I pulled the big Bullocks box down from the shelf
memories held of a long ago self...
4 young girls giggling with glee
trying on dress, from a bride that was me...
one by one they came down the curved stairs
holding the dress, sticking clips in their hair...
the rest of us stood at the bottom and sang
'here comes the bride' ... the descent began...
flip flops and shorts under satin and lace
but what captured my heart was the look on each face...
a hint of 'shy' and a smile of joy
thinking more of the dress and less of 'the boy'...
but that will all change in the coming years
and the hopes for these 'brides' is what caused my tears...
a little fun on an ordinary day
snapshots of life in a special way...

oh, i love this so much. what little beauties
they are. i guess you know that you will
blink, and they will really be walking down
the aisle.
my favorite photo is of my youngest wearing
my dress when she was eight. i'm next to
her kissing her hand, and it just fractures me.
Oh...so love this. I was going to do a post on what to do with your wedding dress with pictures of my daughter, around the age of 6, playing in it.
I love this!!!! I still have my dress for my granddaughter's to play in one day!!! My daughter will have her own...especially since she is the only girl out of the six.
Smiling....just so touched, so love this.

What a sweet poem and pictures!
LOVE this! They are all too precious for words.... No wonder you shed tears.
Not long ago we did the same thing in this house. All three of my daughters dressed up in my dress. They were giddy. Their daddy danced with each of them and my heart melted. He couldn't talk about it... He thought of the day soon coming when it would be practice no longer.
Sooo very sweet and oh so true! Time flies and they will be wearing a dress of their own....oh the tears will fall then too!
Bless you
Just love this little poem with the pictures! How very cute! Made me think back on my wedding dress. About 10 years ago I gave it away. Wished I had not done that now. But we still have a few pictures and a lot of memories!
Hope your week is going well Sonja,
Be blessed,
Love,
Debra

dear sonja,
guess what? luis palau is coming to (tulsa, ssh) and we
get to have dinner with him.
i am going to casually drop your dad's name, because i'm
a shameless namedropper. :)
i felt sure you had a fun story about luis, who we greatly
admire.
ps. no one caught my little hidden scripture. i guess i
better stick to simple.

lea
