Summer fun, even in August!...

These are loooong days, July and August in Texas! We have had record setting days of over 100 degrees for weeks.

We have also had some really good times, with the kids and the grandkids. This was last week when they were all here and we went down to the marina. I haven't been there for awhile and it was so beautiful with the sun about to go down over the water. That water is what drew us out here 20 years ago, and we still love it.

We are so thankful for our family! They bless our lives in 1000 ways, all the time. The heat continues, but there are wonderful days in the midst of it.

Hope your summer isn't as hot as ours, and even if it is, that we all remember how much we have to be thankful for, summer, winter or anytime!

I love the old song... 'Count your blessings name them one by one, count your many blessings, see what God has done."...

I'm also looking forward to counting the blessing of days that are back into the 80' and 90's!...

Oh love the pictures...beautiful and precious grandchildren..a true reward from the Lord.
We haven't been to the lake this summer...ugh! We drive over it, and so much is gone, but not to play. Yes the sunset upon the water is just breath taking.

So glad you made it even in the heat. How relaxing to see the sail boats.

Enjoy the hot week....more to come it seems. We have passed up 31 years ago, which was the summer I was a new bride.

very nice and yes, I sing that song to myself, when I am feeling grumpy. It always helps. I love your pictures today. They are just lovely. I am praying for your weather to pass too. Have a great week.

Making wonderful memories with the family; there's nothing to compare....
And you are so right, family get togethers are special no matter what the weather,,,hot or cold.....

The pictures are wonderful and just looking at the water is refreshing.....

Maybe we will all have some cooler days soon.....It's pouring rain as I write, which we need badly.....

What a beautiful family. Enjoyed those pics. Thanks for sharing and I am concerned about those super high temps you've been sustaining there in Texas.

We're miserably hot and dry here too, but I still pray for Texas all the time because I know from the news and blogland that it's even worse!

That song is brain medicine for me when I'm taken prisoner by the grump monster.

Your pictures are wonderful and make me want to head to the marina.

Sonja,
So sorry you have had such a prolonged heat wave.

Your water pictures are lovely.

I also saw where you were visiting my daughter's blog (Denise J. Hughes at the Quiet Quill). Nice of you to stop by there, too.

I always enjoy your feedback.
Blessings to you - Marsha

What a grand bunch of grandkids you have! They look absolutely delightful!

Enjoy that beautiful marina - and the cool breezes (are there any down there?!)

And when you count your blessings, they don't just add up - they actually begin to multiply into JOY!

GOD BLESS!

Gorgeous Grandbabies!!! :) I have two of my own :)

Counting the blessings with you friend and you're on my list!

We've had some crazy hot temps over here in Florida but enjoying it...of course the central air bill is not enjoying it :(

Thankful for all that God provides even the heat. Love you and miss you!
