Amazing!...

Amazing grace.

This morning I was thinking of how God extends His grace to me, over and over. Yes, His discipline comes my way too sometimes, but even that is part of His grace.

All through each day, God does things that I barely take time to stop and ponder. A close call with another car who turned too soon, a bargain we need at the store, or the right little thing to do for another person who may need to hear from us, or someone sent our way to say just the right word, and on and on...

When we truly trust our whole lives to His care... ALL that happens to us is known by God.

When we were kids, I used to ask my mom & dad... 'how do you KNOW that God had something to do with that??'.. their answer was always the same.

"When you trust your whole life to God... He is in ALL of it."

I'm not sure I really 'got that' as a child... I sure do now!

It never gets old, does it... the knowledge that our lives are held secure because of God's Amazing Grace!

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,

Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!

Yonder on Calvary’s mount outpoured,

There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.

Grace, grace, God’s grace,

Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;

Grace, grace, God’s grace,

Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,

Freely bestowed on all who believe!

You that are longing to see His face,

Will you this moment His grace receive?

Wonder-filled words, Sonja. I shudder to think where I would be today without God's grace.
This is a favorite song of mine. Thanks for
reminding me of it.
Have a blessed weekend in Him.

I really love this hymn that you shared on your post today. GOt me humming its melody. TIme and again, I have been a recipient of God's grace... the things you mentioned are all true. A timely word... a turn just in the nick of time, avoiding a dreadful accident... going back to retrieve something we forgot, only to realize the pot of beans was left boiling in the burner... a missed flight that proves providential... even an extra semester spent in university due to a failed course, only to end up meeting your life partner...

Yes so many wonderful acts of grace. SOmetimes, I forget to stop and consider that everything is by grace.

Words of wisdom indeed from your parents.

Lovely post, Sonja.

That just happens to be one of my favorite hymns of all time. You ought to get a load of me singing it with my bobble head in church. I can't help but rock back and forth on my heels A well.

Grace... Grace... Goddddddddddddd's grace...
I sing it when I'm vacuuming, too. It's the perfect sweeper song.

But I digress.

I loved your post, and I feel just as your parents did and you do. He's there. He's EVERYWHERE. It's so exciting to realize that He left a grace gift just for me in random places.

We've got a great big wonderful, God, don't we?

that's supposed to be "as well." What " A well" is, I have no clue. Give me grace. I'm tired.

"Grace over Grace," my mother said.
I'm clinging God's promise, "Never will I leave nor forsake you." Never.
It's written on the wall over my bedpost in the home where I grew up.
I figuratively slept under this promise last night.
What a heavenly comfort.
I also find comfort in looking back, testifying that till this day God has kept his promise.

Indeed - marvelous, infinite, matchless ...

I didn't get it either, as a young woman. And even though I get it now, I sometimes wonder if it's possible to comprehend it - - so great is the mystery & beauty of it.

Oh my dear, I am so behind in my blogging, but I come here to find that you are thinking along the same lines as I was this weekend as I rushed to make my post. Grace is one of the gifts of life that never grows old, but only increased in beauty as we become more aware of its presence!!!!! BLESSINGS ! Anita

were it not for grace, i don't know where i would be.
i am stealing your parents' response to "how do you
know?"

"when you trust your whole life to God, He is in all
of it." such wisdom.

Grace - the completely unmerited and undeserved favor of God. Oh, that I am the sinner who received it?? Truly AMAZING!

Thanks for sharing this, Sonja. I always try to see God in every moment and everything that happens in my life. Today I just read this in Acts:

"He is the God who made the world and everything in it...He himself gives life and breath to everything, and he satisfies every need...For in him we live and move and exist." (Acts 17:24, 25, 28 NLT)

Yes, amazing...

GOD BLESS!

You reminded me of my Grandpa who passed away years ago, he loves singing those kinds of hymns and you also reminded me of a fave hymn of mine about trusting in the Lord, 'Trust and Obey'. To this day I still sing it every now and then.

Thanks for your wonderful post and reflection,
love it ♥

I love the greatness of our God.

God's grace is amazing and wonderful. I lost the diamond in my wedding ring the other day at school. I looked down and it was gone. After two hours of looking (including little children), I found it on the floor next to a back pack. I was thanking God. I'll have to tell you the whole story Sonja.

Love you,
Debbie
