"Twas’ 11 Days before Christmas around 9:38
When 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven’s gate.
Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
They could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
They were filled with such joy, they didn’t know what to say.
They remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
“Where are we?” asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
“This is Heaven” declared a small boy. “We’re spending Christmas at God’s house."
When what did their wondering eyes did appear,
But Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
Then He opened His arms and He called them by name,
and in that moment was joy, that only Heaven can bring,
Those children all flew into the arms of their king.
And as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
One small girl turned and looked at Jesus’ face.
And as if He could read all the questions she had,
He gently whispered to her, “I’ll take care of mom and dad.”
Then he looked down on earth, the world far below,
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow and woe.
Then He closed his eyes and He outstretched His hand,
“Let My power and presence re-enter this land!”
“May this country be delivered from the hands of fools”
“I’m taking back My nation. I’m taking back my schools!”
Then He and the children stood up without a sound.
“Come now My children, let Me show you around.”
Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran
All displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
“In the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT.”

I love it. Just received it in the last hour as a forward. It is so comforting and, though we don't know the details, it was at least that good!
WOOOOOOOOO! OH YEAH! TELL IT LIKE IT IS!!!!!!!!!
I am sick over this....being a teacher, all I can do is weep every time I see the faces of all the victims, children and adults. To see those young and seasoned teachers and principal, to be PROUD of them as brave colleagues. To see the childrens' school pictures...they resemble the little rascals I teach as a substitute now ranging from second grade to ninth grade. But the only comfort I have is knowing that they are probably running up and down and maybe even sliding on the streets of gold, as slick as glass, and making HIM laugh with joy. We are the ones in dire need of prayer so that we can find the solution to our problems. However, in my BLACK AND WHITE state of mind, I know what the solution is. My question is, "Is our government strong enough to make the changes happen?"
Thank you Sonja for your visit, and for sharing this beautiful poem. Anita
So comforting to read Sonja! I know I found it hard to fathom and then to write about this tragedy. But I simply learn to appreciate each and every moment I have with the children in our class. Too unspeakable as I realize what man is capable of doing. But Jesus loves the little children and I'm sure He welcomed them home.
Love you,
Debbie
Wow amazing, I love it
I received this in an email (from Vee), and I just love it. The last part is my favorite part of all. He is still the light!!
I've seen this floating around social media and blogs. It makes me cry every time. It's just beautiful.
I saw this one before, the day after the Connecticut shooting. I hope some of those parents see this story - it might give them some comfort. Beautiful...
If ever we needed so hopeful a Christmas message, today is that day. As darkness advances on so many fronts, we look up to see the Light, the nearing of our salvation.
I sincerely hope you & yours have the best & most blessed Christmas, Sonja. What a gift YOU are!
