This pictures still makes me smile!
When I say 'yesterday's princess'... I mean a lot of yesterdays ago...
One of the blessings of blogging is reflecting back on personal memories, and putting them down in black and white.I was a junior in high school in southern California.
My best friend Margie was the queen and I was one of the princesses of the annual Wisteria Festival in Sierra Madre, California. This was a 7 acre garden of wisteria, which bloomed every year at Easter time.
Youth for Christ was sponsoring the whole festival that year, so it was lots of fun for all of us.
It made me curious to see if it is still going on... sure enough!
Here is the link for this year.
I had to dig DEEP into one of the old, old bins in the garage to find these pictures!
We walked around with all the people who came to visit, and a photographer took pictures of 'the court' with our visitors. Oh boy... my most vivid memory of the whole thing were the clear plastic high heeled sandals... sadly, I felt like royalty in them!
Can you guess which one is me?
A fun memory from a long time ago...
(I'm the far left in the top photo, center front on lower photo)

Sonja, Aren't these kind of memories so precious...and to have a picture to go with your memory is special........Just reading your post is taking me down memory lane....
I think you are the princess on the right hand side in front.....love the bangs I had them too.......
You know you are still a princess, God's Princess.....Isn't it wonderful that He still loves us as we MATURE?
Have a day of smiles as you go down memory lane.
Hugs and blessings,
Nancy
Well let me see if I can tell, in the top picture are you on the right in the front row next to the princess? Then in the bottom picture are you the one in the back row to the left?
I think the girls in this picture are all just beautiful and I bet you had a nice time and what a neat festival I bet it smelled heavenly.
Actually, the top pic is me on the far left, bottom one is me front center. :)
Love these pictures!!!What a special time it is as we grow up. I had the opportunity last week to do lunch with my BFF from high school while Austin was having college orientation a few blocks away. We had such a great time catching up and remembering the fun we shared. Thanks so much for sharing these memories here today!!
Hugs!
Susan
Sonja - Fun memories! I think you look great today, too! :)
There is a great difference in simply getting older, or aging well. I think you are doing the latter with style. Of course, I should have known you were a princess. :)
Blessings - Marsha
I'll not look at a Wisteria vine again without thinking of you! What a beautiful batch of royalty are you "girls". I'm thinking I see many remains of your youth in your present photo, too.
What a wonderful and fun memory....I guessed right btw...honest I did, haha. You made a beautiful princess! HUGS
This is just great! I love all the dresses...they just make you smile. I am so glad they still do this...and you are still royalty in my book!
So sad I came to late to vote. I placed you just where you told. Something about your bold, direct glance and your genuine smile that haven't changed.
I was hoping you would tell us which one is you! Now, I'm going to have to go back and study some more. It's a whole group of beauties, that's for sure.
OK, I'm guess the one on the top left. I'll be back later to see if you update.
