Who am I preaching to?.....

The recipient of a lot of my blog writing is... me.

I preach to the choir.

I am the choir.

It's not a planned thing, but when something is on my mind, often it is there because God is speaking to me, even when I think I am just jotting down my own thoughts. Sometimes I don't even realize that until later, long after I've written it and read it back... down the road.

The words often mirror what His thoughts are producing in my heart.

There are also times when I have almost NO thoughts. God is still there, working in my heart, but the words don't come.

Have you found this to be true in your own blogging? The thoughts that prompt what we write are so often the very messages God is speaking to us, and as we share them, WE are the ones who are the most blessed.

It's so often HIS word, becoming a little more clear in our own thinking.

There are also plenty of blogs that are just random chatter, and those words come spilling out on these pages too.

All of it together is a reflection of who we are and what is going on in our lives.

And something else...

You are also the choir.

I hear it in your words and the things you share from your hearts. They often mirror some of the same things I am thinking about.

I am so glad that you are a part of these pages and thoughts. I think we make a pretty good choir.

Happy New Year to each one of you, I can't wait to see what God has ahead for this choir of His, as we continue to share our journeys on these pages. It's a joy to walk beside you, and you have enriched my life.

Hi there...am grinning because I have just written one of the chatter-filled kind of posts. Believe me, my deepest thoughts usually stay where they are brewing.

Happy New Year, Sonja!

Its not often anymore that I post a lot of what I am pondering. Not that there isn't anything there, just that I don't get it down....on my bucket list to change this year! Happy New Year! And as always, looking forward to reading what's on your heart!

Happy New Year!!! Yes, I think I am always writing to myself, blogs that go around in my head. But I always enjoy what you are thinking about. You always cause me to stop and ponder so that is good.

Yes, Sonja, you are preaching to the choir!! Only a writer could capture what it feels like to put words onto paper (or computer), and then to feel like the words came straight from the heart of God! I thought about two things that I never understood completely until I started writing my blog. One, how authors would say stuff like they didn't know a character was going to do something, or that something would happen in the plot and they were surprised by it. I remember thinking, how could that possibly be? They're the ones writing it!! But then, there have been many times when I've started a blog post in one direction, only to end up somewhere completely different, and been surprised by how I was led there. And the second thing is this - I have always believed that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by humans. But, some people argue that it's not Truth because it came through the pen of man. Well, let me tell you, I have also felt that same experience you speak of - "The words often mirror what His thoughts are producing in my heart." That was PERFECTLY said!!

Yes, as a writer, I see how God uses the Holy Spirit to guide my words, to direct and re-direct my thoughts - how He says what He wants to say TO me and THROUGH me.

It's something I'm very grateful for...

GOD BLESS!

(P.S. In this choir, I might be the one singing off-key...just sayin')

Oh I know I am generally preaching to myself when i write my blog....it helps with clarity when the Lord is speaking to my heart....and I also know so many times I will read on another's blog something that the Lord has been speaking to me about as well and it just kind of cements it for me.....always a beautiful choir. hope you have a happy New Year!

Oh, I really think a whole lot of us are on the same page with our blogs. I told my daughter today that mine is my best therapy. Wishing you a wonderful 2016!
