It's those 'little foxes'...

"It's the little foxes that spoil the vines"... (Song of Solomon 2:15)

These are the little foxes that tried to spoil my vines during the last few weeks....

...the upstairs water heater burst and came raining down through the ceiling of the downstairs bathroom...

...the whole upstairs air conditioning condenser died and had to be replaced....

...several of the sprinkler heads went south and either gushed like a geyser or were buried into the lawn and just bubbled up and flooded... they did not 'sprinkle'...

The money spent on these things was not cosmetic, you don't invite your friends over to see your new water heater!

I realize they are all unimportant compared to the serious problems that many are going through, but that's the point... these little foxes are the daily annoyances and frustrations that can unravel me, frustrate me, and rob my joy!

I want to be faithful in the little things, and trust God in the midst of them. I have a choice to make, each time a little fox comes into my day, and so do you...

They are definitely going to come...

God knows all about them, and He wants us to handle them with a quiet spirit and the knowledge that He is in the details and will take care of them too...

It's one more way He teaches us to trust Him! It's His way or my way... and I know from much experience that His way is ALWAYS the best!

Oh you poor woman! I would be frazzled to pieces if that happened to me. Thank you for encouraging me here tonight to trust Him even more in the every day frustrations, inconveniences, frustrations, etc. I've certainly had my share of them. Yes Lord, Your way is ALWAYS the best!

Love you Sonja! I hope despite the "water works mishap" you had a beautiful Mother's Day.

Can't you tell I've been frazzled...I repeated the word frustrations twice above. My mind is still on overload.

Love you,

Indeed it is, but sometimes when we're wrestling with the little foxes, it's hard for us to remember that.

Sonja, I am so on the same page as you on this. It seems like those little things are what trip me up. I can brace for the big stuff. But give me a few of those little things and ...what happened to my joy?

I love how you wrote:

"I have a choice to make, each time a little fox comes into my day, and so do you..."

That's what Heart Choices is all about. Moment by moment choosing to trust and obey. I'm learning but sometimes much too slowly.

Love you my sis,
Debbie

So sorry to hear about your little foxes. They can really get us down. I'm sure though you have made the right choices in dealing with them! God bless!

Appreciated the post. It is so much more
true to real life than all the grand decisions
we have to make. Those little things can
derail us.
Again, thanks and God bless you.

it's me again. . . sorry.

to let you know what a sweet influence you
have, after i read your comment, i had such
a niggling in my spirit.

couldn't think what it was, so i went back to
my post and realized i had left out the most
important part!

the Lord's hand in the matter. i am a very
grieved that many people have read our story
and not seen His part.

i let a little fox in the hen house . . . .

Oh this made me laugh! Not at you or what you went through but because of what the devil always [in the past] tried to do with water in my house. I always had a fear that the well would run dry ----- or that the washer tub would overflow and flood the entire basement ----- the enemy would always compound my fear of water or lack of it!

Then one day the flood came........ my dishwasher hose sprung a leak on the wrong side of the shut off valve and I could not stop the hot water for over 30 mintues. It poured down the walls of my finished basement - onto furniture and onto the carpet. I tried turning off the breaker to the water pump, the hot water heater but to no avail. When it all stopped it was a mess BUT GOD............ used what the devil intended for evil upon me and my house - to turn it around for 'good'. That was the same day the Lord began to show me that the room would now be a Prayer Room. After $16K of renovations later [paid by my homeowners] - it is now my precious prayer room inside!

The enemy no longer can hold that fear of water over me again because now when it happens with something else - another leak or something - I simply ask, "What Lord? What are You going to turn this to 'good' for?" And He always does!

I liked what you said about not inviting people over to see your new hot water heater [or whatever]. That made me laugh so hard. We have to spend money to maintain our homes and sometimes it never shows on the outside!

Keep sharing. You do a great job relating to us all!

This scripture has been running through my spirit for over a week...so when I saw the title I had to come and read...and as always, so blessed.
Thanks again...I am going to go meditate on these scriptures and take time to hear God tell me where I am allowing the little foxes,
Janette

Sonja.....sounds like you and I and a host of others have had a few "foxy" moments lately!! So frustrating and draining!! HOWEVER, just like you shared, it's one more way to learn to really trust Him with every detail of the day to day "stuff of life"!!

Have an abundantly blessed week!

He is Faithful!
