These are the first 3 blogs I ever visited...

Last August, I discovered what a blog was, by accident.

Once I opened my own blog, I thought, hmmm... I wonder if anyone else has a blog about spiritual things...

I don't remember what search word I used, but the very first blog I found was Andrea at Heart Springs I read her blog that night and was thrilled! Andrea's heart for God was the first thing I noticed. Her gentle and beautiful way of sharing is such a gift... I sent her an email, and very quickly we formed a friendship.

From Andrea's page, I saw SASSY GRANNY, and chuckled out loud... she sounded like me! I emailed Kathleen and she was in Germany at the time. Her return comments were so cute and her blog was so special. I knew I would love her too, and I still do! She has an amazing way with words and expresses things in such a thought provoking and unique way... always challenges me.

Then I saw another name that I was caught by... HEART CHOICES, Debbie's blog. I quickly went to visit her page and that opened up a friendship that has so many parallels that we both laugh! Our Norwegian backgrounds, where we grew up, our taste in music... and so many other things. She is a constant encourager in my life. I call her my third sister...

All 3 of these women are gifted writers, each one is different, but all reflect the Lord in what they say and how they live.I have since found so many other 'friends' on these pages. I learn from all of you, and I am blessed and encouraged by the way you share from your hearts. You know who you are, by the amount of times I visit your pages... Elaine, Shirley, Lisa Shaw, Judy, Rose, Jackie, Debby, Lisa Smith, Tammy, Beth, Debra, Lea, Alleluiabelle, JBR, Andrea, Mary, Stephanie, Gwen, Felisol, Lidj, Patrina...and the list goes on, and it keeps growing! ...

But these 3 were my first experience with blogging, and I'm just saying... I think I started with some of the cream of the crop!

good morning sonja!

thank you for sharing your three gracious
friends with us. i enjoyed each blog very
much and look forward to return visits.

c.s. lewis says that the treasure in sharing
your friends is that one brings something
special out of another that we would never
see, otherwise . . . or something like that. :)

Sonja, have I told you lately that I love you sister! I am honored and so thankful that I met you. I see that I'm in good company in your post too. As you know, Sassy Granny aka Kathleen and I are blogging friends who have met twice now in person. And I am getting to know Andrea and yes, you are right about her heart for God.

It's unusual to find someone who gets you. You really do get me; at least I think so. Our hearts are knit together and I'm so glad. I only wish my mom was still alive as I'd share with her about my new sister Sonja. And I'd also mention her sister Carol Joy too.

Much love and hugs to you,
Debbie

And I get in on all of this too.... your wonderful blogger friends... and feel like I know them from afar! I'm grateful for such an outlet of growth and encouragement, for all of us! (I feel like our mother in Heaven already knows about our 3rd sister Debbie!) Sooooo glad for Bits and Pieces!!!!

I most certainly agree with you...the four of you are the cream of the crop, along with the other ones you shared. I just cannot adequately express the real, heartfelt blessing you all have been to me, time and time again. It does feel like the family God created us to be. Beautiful post!

I'm going to have to check out Andrea's blog! I love Kathleen and Debbie. And now, I'm getting to know YOU! Blogland has been a wonderful way to meet some very precious friends. Bill and I spent the weekend with a blog friend, Elaine, and her Billy!

I'd say you did, my friend. Sassy was my first blogging friend. For a long season it seemed to be just me and her, blogging back and forth with one another. When I first read your blog, I though of Sassy. I think I was the one to introduce her to Andrea, and the rest, well it's been a very good history thus far. You godly women are my heroes and my faith mentors. I cherish any words of wisdom you might have for me.

Keep to it.

You're so sweet, Sonja! What's there not to love about you?

Sassy was my 7th follower! I remember that because I had asked God for 7 followers. I love the # 7!

I know most those that you mentioned but will have to introduce myself to others. Anyone you follow comes highly recommended!

So glad that you are a follower of mine and vice versa. Such an encouragement you have been to me.

Blessings,

Sonja,
You are so sweet to devote a post to your dear friends. Sorry I haven't been around in a bit. I was taking a wee break from blogging while the weather has been nice. As I type this the air is cooling and I can feel rain is on it's way. I discovered something while I was away ..even if it was just a few days. Blogging keeps me honest and keeps my heart in place. I think it is because I am so encouraged by people like you. Not that I did anything wrong:) the last few days. But I did miss the warm , christian communtity that blogging offers. I hope you are having a wonderful week.
Love,Gwen

It is truly amazing how we have grown in the sisterhood of blogland! When I was in Jerusalem I told many of the people in my group how awesome you ladies are, having you on my prayer team and knowing how much you cared and prayed over me. Our connections run deep and wide in this place. Blogland = just a little glimpse of The Promised Land!
