2 eyes, 2 ears, a nose and a mouth...

My dad used to say to our kids when they were little...

"Just think... every single person in the world has 2 eyes, 2 ears, 1 nose and a mouth, and yet every one of us looks different. How do you think God did that??'...

It always got the kids thinking...

Who but our God could take 2 eyes, 2 ears, a nose and a mouth...

...and end up with millions of people, each one unique and hand created!

And that's just on the OUTSIDE! Think of how different we all are on the inside... our thinking, perception, gifts, personalities... what a HUGE God to have put us together, each different, unique and perfect, and in His image! I was created just according to His plan, so were you.

When I try my hand at an art project, and I draw people, which is not my gift... every single person looks the same! I always draw 2 eyes, 2 ears a nose and a mouth... and they always end up looking like clones of each other!

I am in awe of His individual stamp on each life, none of us share the same DNA...

... and yet many still don't believe. It would take more faith NOT to believe than to look at the miracle and order of creation and imagine it could be random.

God's creation reveals His loving heart in a million ways, and I am so thankful that He chose me to be one of them...

I was just thinking as I read this how wonderful it would be if we all embraced our differences as if we were viewing a gallery full of art!!

Yes, it is amazing when you really think about that. I love that we're all so different too. We are each gifted in different ways too. You always give us something new to consider about how awesome our God is.

Love you sis,
Debbie

Good morning my dear Sonja!!! THANK YOU FOR COMING TO VISIT ME LAST NIGHT! Yes, I could not bring myself to post on my original idea that I had before I heard of the news of the earthquake. Seeing the news on the internet is too graphic for me at this time, and all I can do is pray. God is STILL MIGHTY and great, and only HE KNOWS WHY and WHAT is the result of all this suffering. But you touch on something here that I often think about, and to think that WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE GIFT OF LIFE AND A SOUL that will go on and on...that is mind-boggling!!!! And to top it off, we have been given ETERNAL LIFE???? That is something to celebrate in anytime of joy or even tragedy. Blessings to you my friend, Anita

So true Sonja. The gifts the Lord has given each one of us is precious. Blessings.

I agree, Sonja. How anyone could look at all that our Creator has created and not see a brilliant designer is beyond me.

It's like looking at the force of an earthquake and remaining unpersuaded. Boggles my mind.

I LOVE the creativity that flows from God. It's mind-boggling to think that in the millions or billions of people He created - each one is unique. That's why it makes me sad when we try and copy someone else. We want to be them, not us. Wish I had learned that lesson earlier in life. I went through a lot of anguish for nothing. Maybe that's part of growing up? If we would all celebrate our uniqueness, then God would truly be glorified!

Dear Sonja,
What a wise man your Dad was.
I often sadly realize that I have difficulties accepting how God in his wisdom created us all so indiviually differently.

Then again, I think, perhaps this make sense, and is the reason why the many different churches are worshiping the same God and the same Savior in their special way.

Some need to jump and praise loudly, some find peace and beauty in the rituals, the blessing and Our Lord's prayer.
There sure is a place for everyone who believe.
The problem is to accept the diversity. (My problem, that is.)

Oh, your daddy was so wise. I love the
fact that the Lord made us all so very
different and yet so alike in that we
have such a great need for Him.
I enjoyed your words today, as I
always do. =0)
Hugs,
Sandy

I can't help but think of Psalm 139, where God "knit" us together... a word meaning to variegate with colors! Indeed, who is like our God?!

We'd all do well to remember his creative genius as it pertains to others... especially those people with whom we find difficulty.

That amazement never gets old does it? Each time my children make a print of their thumb we also talk about this....and yet, I as a mom am still so amazed how different all six of my children are. Our God is such a creative God...and I stand AMAZED!

God creates such amazing variety - and I agree - it takes more faith to be an atheist than to give credit to God for creation.

I'm so glad that He knew each of us before we were ever born...

GOD BLESS!

I think what you've captured here is the essence of God's creative genius. I like to think He's custom made each & every one of us.

When I first saw your post title, I thought you were going to remind us how 2 eyes/2 ears are needed to see & to listen TWICE as much as one mouth would speak :)

Hugs,
Kathleen

This just amazes me every time I am reminded of it. We are custom designed, every single one of us. God certainly blessed your parents with special doses of wisdom, and I love how you those nuggets of Truth stuck with you. Good reminder for me and what I am sharing with my grandchildren.
