Antiques & garters!...

Here are a few pictures of my favorite antique show held twice a year in Richardson, Texas. This is the MOST fun and beautiful show!

Take a look at my friend Candace's shoes... vintage plastic DIOR. She is one of those who can wear ANYTHING and it looks fantastic. She had on Gucci style flowing pants and some layered tops. She couldn't decide which nail polish to use, so she did each toe in a different color!

This is my friend Jan...
Jan makes garters for brides... incredible garters.

She did the garter for Jenna Bush, and is doing one for Rebecca St.James, a Christian singer that we all love. She makes each one by hand, from very special vintage lace and trims. They are works of art, and a keepsake that each bride treasures.

She made the garter for my niece's wedding in Norway last summer and it is a work of art.

The other thing about Jan... the main thing... is her love for the Lord! I call her Miss Joy Bells ... her smile is huge, her joy is from the heart, and her life is a living testimony to her Saviour. Jan is one of those rare gems that God places in your life, to remind us of His goodness.

Our good friend Steven produces the show and he does such an incredible job!

If you are ever in the Dallas area in February or September, The Antique Elegance Show is where you need to be!

Isn't it wonderful to know ladies that are not only talented, but Christians as well? You are blessed with many friends. May He bless you with many more.

Oh boy, Sonja - You're speaking my language!! I love antiques. Wish I lived closer - I'd definitely go to this show.

Even in a photograph, you can just see the Lord in Jan's face! She has a sweet glow - and the kindest eyes.

Enjoyed this - the photos were great - tempting, but great!! :)

GOD BLESS!

I'm not a bit surprised that you have some very special friends Sonja. It sounds like a wonderful antique show too. I love the photo of the lace linens. My mother always set the table with beautiful embroidered tablecloths. That garter looks so feminine. And good for Rebecca St. James. I didn't know she was getting married. I gave my nieces a book she wrote years ago about remaining pure until marriage.

Love you sis,
Debbie

I'm not a huge antique fan myself, but I certainly do appreciate a well kept, vintage piece. My sister has a number of items, mostly furniture, that grace her home. She'd die to join you!

I've not been to Dallas for awhile, but it's a city I really like (especially Sam Moon's Outlet Store!).

Blessings to you, your buddies, and to the creative energies that pull off so fun an event!

Oh this is where you went...yes, yes, I need to go sometime..I will flag it on my calendar. You have such wonderful friends...this is just great. Our son meet Jenna Bush when my husband had products at the National Convention. The twins graduated from my high school.
I didn't know Rebecca St James was getting married...how wonderful.
Oh, I will have to remember these for (well maybe if they allow it from their mother-in-law) my future daughter-in-laws and for sure for my only daughter.
How fun!

What a unique and wonderful friend you have! "Joy" from the top of her head to the tips of her toes!

I've heard of so many wonderful antique shows in Texas! As I get nearer and nearer to being an antique myself, I enjoy leisurely time looking w/o buying!
