Mom's of all ages...

Every store I was in this week seemed to have a crowd around the card section, and the signs advertising gifts for mother's were everywhere I looked.

I feel it every year... the loss of my own mother. I can't get her a card or a gift anymore, and I will always be reminded in an extra special way on Mother's Day.
But I know she is spending Mother's Day in heaven, and that makes it all okay.

What I also know is that there are some young mother's in my life who are making their mark on the next generation, and on my heart.

So to Carole,
Dedra,
and now Molly...

I am so thankful for each one of you, for what you mean to me, and for the gifts that each of you have given and will continue to give, to your own children...

Courtney, Cassidy, Gage, Lainey, Avery, Crew and Gracie...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO THE NEXT GENERATION OF MOTHER'S!!!

I love you all!!!

Thanks, Mom, we LOVE you so much and Praise God for your amazing example of what 'Mom' really means. Thanks for ALL of the millions of UN-noticed acts of selflessness, caring and kindness that you have done for me over the past 46 years. I am eternally grateful that God, in His mercy, chose YOU to be my Mom! Love you, Mom/Soul Sister!

Wonderful post! When I look at some of the young mothers in our church, it makes me so much more encouraged about the future.

Sonja - just been catching up with you. First of all, I TOTALLY remember SYcamore numbers! That was such a blast from the past! For a period of time I worked for my dad's plumbing and heating supply company in Pasadena - among my jobs, I answered the switchboard! The old-fashioned kind with the plug-in cords! And yes, we had SYcamore numbers!

What fond memories.

And may I just take this opportunity to wish you a very HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! Isn't the way God works wonderful - our mothers leave marks on our hearts, we pass it on, and on, and on...

Yes, yay for all the new and young moms. God is doing a mighty work in the next generation!

GOD BLESS!

I love this because my prayer this mother's day...well repeated prayer, is that next year we will be gathered around a baby celebrating a new mom and I can hand the torch over on this day of celebration.

I know your day was special...belated Happy Mother's Day!

Yes, I love and miss my mom too! But one day we will be reunited with our mothers in heaven. What a glorious day that will be. And maybe we can arrange to sit under a beautiful shade tree and sip iced tea with both of our mothers and you and me. :)

I love that you honor the next generation of mothers. My niece and her husband just had their first baby girl; Kenzie. I'm so excited to welcome this latest addition to our family.

Love you,
Debbie

Dear Sonja,
I have known you long enough to witness, you never took your Mom for granted. It was touching to read that you are regarded as God given by your own daughter.

You know, we are blessed beyond understanding to have mother's so loving and so special.
I can just hope that some is rubbing off, so we may pass the good seed on.
My heart goes to the ones who by some misfortune don't have had the experience of a loving mother.
They will forever have an emotional hole.

On the other hand, my dad lost his mother at the age of 13. He and his four siblings and my granddad as well would always talk about Mama.
One by one they followed in their mother's footsteps and chose Jesus as their Saviour.A tragic loss, but now they all are gathered in Heaven for eternity.
(That makes me want to say Hallelujah.)My dad would always include grandmother in Heaven in our evening prayers. This way he told us where he was aiming and his heart was set.
God really can make bad things turn into good.
